Passwords and User Accounts
From ArkWiki
Go to Kmenu>Mission Control and select Users & Passwords.
[edit] Setting a Password
The Change your Password item seems to be glitched and doesn't seem to work too well. Instead, we will use the User Accounts to change your password. Click User Accounts and scroll down to arklinux. Double click arklinux and click Set Password. Enter your desired password in the two text boxes (you must type them in exactly the same way both times!). Ensure that the Account disabled box is not checked or Xed. Click OK.
[edit] Adding a New User Account
Click on User and select Add. Type in the desired user name (making sure to keep it to one word) and click OK. Click the arrow that is pointing down next to Login shell: and select /bin/bash (failure to do this will prevent the user from logging in to the computer). Make sure that the Accounte disabled box is not checked or Xed. Also, ask the person who will be using this user account to set a password. When you are finished, click OK.
[edit] Enable the login screen at boot
Please make sure that the default arklinux account is enabled before doing this by following the directions for setting a password. Failure to do so will lock you out of the arklinux account.
Back in Mission Control, click Login Manager. Click Convenience and click in the Enable Auto-Login to uncheck it. Click the Background tab. If you wish there to be a background wallpaper behind the login screen, click Enable Background to check it, then click default_blue and select the desired background image. Click Apply then click OK.
