The screenshots to be made for the graphical tour on the new website...

[edit] Installer shots
To be done later on, need someone with vmware to do these...
Check out this page from the walkthrough for a full list of every install screen :-) these snapshots will eventually be updated for 2008.1.
That said, these two should probably be part of it at least:
[edit] Desktop shot
- Desktop on first startup, right after bootup
- [alt][f2], type: ksnapshot, [enter], then save the image which is automatically snapped there, since that is the perfect representation of the first thing the user actually sees

- Open KMenu, with one submenu expanded (which one?)
- Select a couple of seconds delay in ksnapshot, click grab, and expand the kmenu to where it should be, with one item highlighted (any specific one?)
- Konqueror opened up
- Simply open Konqueror, with the default page showing, grab shot of that
- Kontact opened up
- Simply open Kontact and grab a shot of it
- Maybe make it display an HTML mail to get rid of the g_FUD that kmail/kontact can't handle HTML mail
- OOo Writer
- Open up OOo Writer, write some text (not sure what, help?), click save. This shows off the KDE file dialog in OOo
- Amarok
- Open up Amarok and load the random mix dynamic playlist, play some music for five tracks (to get some history showing)
- Games!
- Open up... what games? Probably the most impressive looking ones:
- wesnoth
- freeciv
- ppracer
- lincity-ng
- supertux
- knights
- System management
- Mission Control front page
- Check out Installing/Updating Software
- Software management
- Kynaptic, opened up to Edit -> Find..., searching for "game" in where: name, summary, description?
