Although Linux can run for an amazingly long time without rebooting, you might want to shut it down or reboot, or you might want to log off for someone else to log in (only recommended if you setup another user).

Click Kmenu>Log Out or-if you used the default Ark Linux interface on Kpersonalizer, see Starting Off for details-press CTRL+ALT+DEL:

[edit] Logging off

The first option on the dialog box that appears will be End Current Session. Be careful! If you haven't enabled the default arklinux account yet, you will not be able to log back in without rebooting.

[edit] I just logged off and now I can't log back in!

This is because you haven't enable the default arklinux account yet. Click Menu>Shutdown, and select Restart Computer. It will automatically log you back in. Click Kmenu>Mission Control, then select Users & Passwords, and select User Accounts. Find arklinux and double click it. Click the X in account disabled to remove the X. If you'd like to set a password, click Set Password. When you are done setting the password, click Ok. Now, when you log off, you can log back in without a problem.

[edit] Shutting down.

The second option on the dialog box that appears will be Turn Off Computer. Click this. Ark will go through a shut down process, and the computer will shut off on it's own-that is, unless you use a flip switch to turn off the computer, then you will need to wait until the computer finishes its shut down processes, and then manually shut if off.

[edit] Rebooting (or Restarting)

The third option will be Restart Computer. Click this. Ark will go through its shut down processes, and when it's done, the computer will start booting from the beginning as if you had just turned the computer off then on again-except that you didn't have to shut it off to start it up from the beginning.
