You might be wandering how you go about browsing the Web in Linux. This part of the walkthrough will explain that to you.

Launching the Web Browser

You can launch a web browser by clicking the Konqueror icon next to the Kmenu or by going to Kmenu -> Internet then clicking Konqueror or (if you installed it by following Installing/Updating Software) Firefox:

We will next see the web browser appear. Click in the Location bar and type in www.arklinux.org:

Push enter and we will see the Ark Linux web site appear. You can click any of the "Links" here -- a link on the World Wide Web is normally blue or purple and underlines, and the links on the Ark Linux home page are to the left of the Web page you are now on.

When you are done browsing the Ark Linux web site, click the Google box and type in something you would like to know about, then press enter. You will be shown a page from the Google search engine showing you some Search results related to what you typed in.

There is one last thing I wold like to show you. If you are using Konqueror and you are having trouble viewing a web site the way it should look, you can have it show itself as a different browser:

That is a really old version of the Ark Linux Web site that you see in the background (that version of the site no longer exists thanks to a hacker).
